الترجمة الإنجليزية
Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) recited a prostration verse while on the pulpit on Friday. He came down and prostrated, and they prostrated with him. Then he recited on the following Friday, and they prepared to prostrate. So Umar said: Take it easy! Allah the Exalted did not prescribe it upon us unless we wish. So he recited it and did not prostrate, and he prevented them from prostrating. Al-Bukhari said: And Imran ibn Husayn was told about a man who hears the prostration verse but has not sat down for it. He said: What if he had sat down for it? - as if he does not consider it obligatory upon him.
