الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) prostrated in an-Najm and the people prostrated with him, except two men who wanted to make themselves conspicuous. Al-Shafi'i said: The two men, God willing, would not leave an obligation, and had they left it, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would have commanded them to repeat it. As for the hadith of Zayd, it is, and Allah knows best, that Zayd did not prostrate, as he was the reciter, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not prostrate either. It was not obligatory so that the Prophet would command him to do it. He also argued with what has been mentioned from the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) about the obligation of five prayers, where the man said: Is there anything else upon me? He said: No, unless you wish to do voluntary worship.
