أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ قَالَ قُمْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لَيْلَةً فَقَامَ فَقَرَأَ سُورَةَ الْبَقَرَةِ لَا يَمُرُّ بِآيَةِ رَحْمَةٍ إِلَّا وَقَفَ فَسَأَلَ وَلَا يَمُرُّ بِآيَةِ عَذَابٍ إِلَّا وَقَفَ فَتَعَوَّذَ قَالَ ثُمَّ رَكَعَ بِقَدْرِ قِيَامِهِ يَقُولُ فِي رُكُوعِهِ سُبْحَانَ ذِي الْجَبَرُوتِ وَالْمَلَكُوتِ وَالْكِبْرِيَاءِ وَالْعَظَمَةِ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ بِقَدْرِ قِيَامِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ فِي سُجُودِهِ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ قَامَ فَقَرَأَ بِآلِ عِمْرَانَ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ سُورَةً سُورَةً
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Awf ibn Malik al-Ashja'i said: I stood with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) one night. He stood and recited Surah al-Baqarah, not passing a verse of mercy without pausing and asking, nor a verse of punishment without pausing and seeking refuge. Then he bowed for as long as he had stood, saying in his bowing: Glory be to the Possessor of might, sovereignty, grandeur, and greatness. Then he prostrated for as long as he had stood, saying in his prostration the same. Then he stood and recited Al Imran, then recited surah by surah.
