Abu Tahir al-Faqih informed us, Abu Bakr al-Qattan informed us, Ahmad ibn Yusuf narrated to us, Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us from Hammam ibn Munabbih who said: This is what Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to us. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'When one of you stands for prayer, let him not spit in front of him, for he is conversing privately with Allah as long as he is in his prayer place. Nor to his right, for to his right is an angel. Rather, let him spit to his left or under his foot and bury it.'
