قَنَتَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ شَهْرًا يَدْعُو عَلَى عُصَيَّةَ وَذَكْوَانَ فَلَمَّا ظَهَرَ عَلَيْهِمْ تَرَكَ الْقُنُوتَ أَخْبَرَنَاهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْقَاضِي ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو غَسَّانَ ثنا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ فَذَكَرَهُ وَقَدْ رُوِّينَا عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّمَا تَرَكَ اللَّعْنَ البيهقي ٣١٥٥: عن
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Umar recited the prostration verse in Surah al-Nahl on the pulpit on Friday, then came down and prostrated. The following Friday he recited it again but did not prostrate, saying: "O people, we pass by the prostration verses. Whoever prostrates has done well, and whoever does not is not sinful." Then Umar said: "Allah has not made the prostration obligatory upon us unless we wish."
