الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abu Abd al-Rahman ibn Aishah said: The scholars of hadith said that the Prophet forbade the Persian bow because when its string breaks, its owner cannot benefit from it, whereas the Arabian bow, when its string breaks, can still serve as a staff. They also had wooden spears, and when they thrust with them, the one struck could grab and break them. So the Prophet ordered bamboo spears instead, because when thrust, the struck person could grab them but they would bend without breaking. These were imported from Bahrain.
