And among them: Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Ahmad ibn Abdan informed us: Ahmad ibn Ubayd al-Saffar reported to us: al-Harith ibn Abi Usamah narrated to us: Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us: al-Jurayri reported to us, from Abu Nadrah, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: "When one of you comes upon a herder, let him call out three times: 'O camel-herder!' If he answers him [well and good]; otherwise let him milk and drink, but not carry [any] away. And when one of you comes upon a walled garden, let him call out three times: 'O owner of the garden!' If he answers him [well and good]; otherwise let him eat, but not carry [any] away." Sa'id ibn Iyas al-Jurayri was alone in [narrating] it, and he is among the trustworthy, except that he became confused (mukhtalit) at the end of his life, and Yazid ibn Harun's hearing from him was after his confusion. Hammad ibn Salamah also narrated it from al-Jurayri, but it is not strong. And it has been narrated from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), contrary to that.
