أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْأَرْدَسْتَانِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو نَصْرٍ الْعِرَاقِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ثنا سُفْيَانُ ثنا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ بْنِ حَذْفٍ الْعَبْسِيِّ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ عَلِيٍّ ؓ بِالرَّحْبَةِ فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ هَمْدَانَ يَسُوقُ بَقَرَةً مَعَهَا وَلَدُهَا فَقَالَ إِنِّي اشْتَرَيْتُهَا أُضَحِّي بِهَا وَإِنَّهَا وَلَدَتْ قَالَ فَلَا تَشْرَبْ مِنْ لَبَنِهَا إِلَّا فَضْلًا عَنْ وَلَدِهَا فَإِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ النَّحْرِ فَانْحَرْهَا هِيَ وَوَلَدَهَا عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ

Abu Bakr al-Ardastani informed us, Abu Nasr al-Iraqi informed us, Sufyan ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Ali ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, Abdullah ibn al-Walid narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, Zuhayr ibn Abi Thabit narrated to us from Mughirah ibn Hadhf al-Absi who said: We were with Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) at al-Rahbah. A man from Hamdan came driving a cow with its calf and said: "I bought it to sacrifice, and it has given birth." He said: "Do not drink its milk except what is surplus from its calf. When the Day of Sacrifice comes, slaughter it and its calf on behalf of seven."
