That a she-camel belonging to a man of the Ansar was near Uhud, and it was about to die, so he slaughtered it with a tent peg. He asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about eating it, and he ordered him to eat it. Abu al-Husayn ibn al-Fadl al-Qattan informed us, Abu Sahl ibn Ziyad al-Qattan narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ghalib narrated to us, Sulayman ibn Harb narrated to us, Jarir ibn Hazim narrated to us, and he mentioned it. Habban ibn Hilal narrated it from Jarir ibn Hazim, adding: I said to him: "Was it iron?" He said: "No, it was wood" - meaning the tent peg.
