And Abu Ali al-Rudhbari informed us, Muhammad ibn Bakr informed us, Abu Dawud narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Hanbal narrated to us, Abu al-Mughirah narrated to us, Safwan narrated to us, Yazid ibn Khumayr al-Rahbi said: Abdullah ibn Busr, the companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), went out with the people on the day of Eid al-Fitr or Eid al-Adha. He objected to the imam's delay and said: "We used to be finished at this hour," and that was at the time of the morning voluntary prayers. And it was narrated to us from al-Hasan al-Basri that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to go out to the Eid of al-Adha and al-Fitr when the sun rose and completed its rising. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray the Eid prayer at the earliest time. Whoever slaughtered before the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and ate and fed his family and neighbors, as narrated in the hadith of Abu Burdah ibn Niyar, his slaughter occurred before its proper time, which is not permissible. That is why he was ordered to repeat it. Whoever sacrifices at the time when the prayer becomes permissible and the duration of the Prophet's prayer and sermon has passed, his sacrifice is acceptable, if Allah wills.
