أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ حَيَّانَ حَدَّثَنِي بَيَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْقَطَّانُ ثنا دَاوُدُ بْنُ رُشَيْدٍ ثنا الْوَلِيدُ عَنْ عُفَيْرِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ ثنا سُلَيْمُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ ؓ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ خَيْرُ الضَّحَايَا الْكَبْشُ الْأَقْرَنُ وَرُوِيَ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ نُسَيٍّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ؓ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ خَيْرُ الضَّحَايَا الْكَبْشُ الْأَقْرَنُ وَخَيْرُ الْكَفَنِ الْحُلَّةُ وَقَدْ مَضَى فِي كِتَابِ الْجَنَائِزِ

Abu Bakr ibn al-Harith al-Asbahani informed us, Abu Muhammad ibn Hayyan informed us, Bayan ibn Ahmad al-Qattan narrated to me, Dawud ibn Rushaid narrated to us, al-Walid narrated to us from Ufayr ibn Ma'dan, Sulaym ibn Amir narrated to us from Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best sacrifice is the horned ram." And it was narrated from Ubadah ibn Nusay from his father from Ubadah ibn al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best sacrifice is the horned ram, and the best shroud is the suit." This has already been mentioned in the Book of Funerals.
