أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدُّورِيُّ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ فَارِسٍ أنبأ ابْنُ عَوْنٍ أنبأنَا أَبُو رَمْلَةَ أنبأنَا مِخْنَفُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ قَالَ بَيْنَا نَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وُقُوفٌ بِعَرَفَةَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ عَلَى كُلِّ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ فِي كُلِّ عَامٍ أَضْحَاةً وَعَتِيرَةً هَلْ تَدْرِي مَا الْعَتِيرَةُ ؟ قَالَ فَلَا أَدْرِي مَا رَدُّوا قَالَ هِيَ الَّتِي يَقُولُ لَهَا النَّاسُ الرَّجَبِيَّةُ

Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us, Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us, al-Abbas ibn Muhammad al-Duri narrated to us, Uthman ibn Umar ibn Faris narrated to us, Ibn Awn informed us, Abu Ramlah informed us, Mikhnaf ibn Sulaym informed us, he said: While we were standing with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at Arafah, he said: "Upon every household is an obligation each year of a sacrificial animal and an Atirah. Do you know what the Atirah is?" He said: I do not know what they replied. He said: "It is what the people call the Rajabiyyah (sacrifice made in the month of Rajab)."
