أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَمْرٍو الْأَدِيبُ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْإِسْمَاعِيلِيُّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي الْمَنِيعِيُّ وَالْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ؓ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ قَتَلَ مُعَاهَدًا بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ لَمْ يَرَحْ رَائِحَةَ الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنَّهُ لَيُوجَدُ رِيحُهَا مِنْ مَسِيرَةِ أَرْبَعِينَ عَامًا

Abu 'Amr al-Adib informed us, Abu Bakr al-Isma'ili said: al-Mani'i and al-Hasan ibn Sufyan informed me, they said: Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us from al-Hasan ibn 'Amr, from Mujahid, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever kills a person under covenant without right will not smell the fragrance of Paradise, even though its fragrance can be found from a distance of forty years."
