Abu Muhammad Abdullah ibn Yahya ibn Abd al-Jabbar al-Sukkari informed us in Baghdad, from Isma'il ibn Muhammad al-Saffar, from al-Abbas ibn Abdullah al-Tarqufi, from Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Muqri', from Haywah, from Abu Hani', from Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Hubuli, from Abdullah ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said — and Abdullah ibn Yusuf informed us, from Abu Sa'id ibn al-A'rabi, from Muhammad ibn Isma'il, from Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Muqri', from Haywah and Ibn Lahi'ah, both saying: Abu Hani' narrated to us that he heard Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Hubuli say: I heard Abdullah ibn Amr say: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: No raiding party goes out in the cause of Allah and gains spoils except that they have taken in advance two-thirds of their reward from the Hereafter, and one-third remains for them. And if they gain no spoils, their full reward is completed for them. The narration of Ibn Yusuf does not include "from the Hereafter."
