أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا أَبَانُ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ ابْنِ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَتِيكٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَتِيكٍ ؓ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ مِنَ الْغَيْرَةِ مَا يُحِبُّهَا اللهُ وَمِنْهَا مَا يُبْغِضُ اللهُ فَأَمَّا الْغَيْرَةُ الَّتِي يُحِبُّ اللهُ فَالْغَيْرَةُ فِي الرِّيبَةِ وَأَمَّا الْغَيْرَةُ الَّتِي يُبْغِضُ فَالْغَيْرَةُ فِي غَيْرِ رِيبَةٍ وَأَمَّا الْخُيَلَاءُ الَّتِي يُحِبُّهَا اللهُ فَاخْتِيَالُ الرَّجُلِ بِنَفْسِهِ عِنْدَ الْقِتَالِ وَاخْتِيَالُهُ عِنْدَ الصَّدَقَةِ وَالْخُيَلَاءُ الَّتِي يُبْغِضُ اللهُ فَاخْتِيَالُ الرَّجُلِ بِنَفْسِهِ فِي الْفَخْرِ وَالْخُيَلَاءِ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us, from Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from Aban, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Muhammad ibn Ibrahim, from Ibn Jabir ibn Atik, from Jabir ibn Atik (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Among jealousy is that which Allah loves and that which He detests. The jealousy Allah loves is jealousy when there is legitimate suspicion. The jealousy Allah detests is jealousy without cause. As for the pride (swagger) that Allah loves, it is a man's self-confidence when fighting and his confidence when giving charity. The pride that Allah detests is a man's arrogance in boasting and vanity.
