أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى أنبأ ابْنُ لَهَيعَةَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ أَنَّ أَبَا مُؤَمَّلٍ أَوَّلُ مُكَاتَبٍ كُوتِبَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَعِينُوا أَبَا مُؤَمَّلٍ فَأُعِينَ مَا أَعْطَى كِتَابَتَهُ وَفَضَلَتْ فَضْلَةٌ فَاسْتَفْتَى فِيهَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَجْعَلَهَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abu Mu'ammal was the first mukatab (slave who arranged to buy his freedom) during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). The Prophet said: "Help Abu Mu'ammal." He was helped until he paid his contract, and a surplus remained. He consulted the Prophet about the surplus, and the Prophet told him to put it in the cause of Allah.
