أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أنا قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جَسْرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ مَعْقِلٍ وَأَشْيَاخَهُمْ يَذْكُرُونَ أَنَ عَلِيًّا ؓ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْمَوْلُودِ لَا يُدْرَى أَرَجُلٌ أَمِ امْرَأَةٌ فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ ؓ يُوَرَّثُ مِنْ حَيْثُ يَبُولُ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz and Abu Sa'id ibn Abi Amr informed us with their chain from Abdullah ibn Jasr who said: 'I heard Ibn Ma'qil and their elders mention that Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about a newborn whose sex could not be determined - is it male or female? Ali said: Inheritance is determined based on where the person urinates.'
