أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أنا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ قَالَ إِنِّي لَأَحْفَظُ عَنْ عُمَرَ فِي الْجَدِّ مِائَةَ قَضِيَّةٍ كُلُّهَا يَنْقُضُ بَعْضُهَا بَعْضًا

Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us: Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us: Yahya ibn Abi Talib narrated to us: Yazid ibn Harun informed us: Hisham ibn Hassan narrated from Muhammad ibn Sirin from Abidah who said: 'I have memorized from Umar a hundred rulings regarding the grandfather, all of which contradict each other.'
