أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ ثنا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ ثنا عَبَّادُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الزِّنَادِ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ أَمَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ ؓ حَيْثُ قُتِلَ أَهْلُ الْيَمَامَةِ أَنْ يُوَرِّثَ الْأَحْيَاءَ مِنَ الْأَمْوَاتِ وَلَا يُوَرِّثَ بَعْضَهُمْ مِنْ بَعْضٍ

Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us: Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us: Yahya ibn Abi Bukayr narrated to us: Zuhayr ibn Mu'awiyah narrated to us: Abbad ibn Kathir narrated to us: Abu al-Zinad narrated to me from Kharijah ibn Zayd from Zayd ibn Thabit who said: Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) ordered me when the people of Yamamah were killed that the living should inherit from the dead, and the dead should not inherit from each other.
