حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنِ أَبِيهِ عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُلُّ صَلَاةٍ لَا يُقْرَأُ فِيهَا بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ فَهِيَ خِدَاجٌ فَهِيَ خِدَاجٌ فَهِيَ خِدَاجٌ غَيْرُ تَمَامٍ.

Waki' told us: Shu'bah told us, from al-Ala' ibn Abd al-Rahman, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every prayer in which the Opening chapter of the Book is not recited is deficient, is deficient, is deficient — incomplete."
