حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ عَنِ أَبِي حَصِينٍ عَنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَدِّدُوا وَقَارِبُوا وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ أَحَدًا مِنْكُمْ لَيْسَ بِمُنْجِيهِ عَمَلُهُ قَالُوا وَلَا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِي اللَّهُ بِرَحْمَتِهِ.

Aswad ibn Amir narrated to us, he said: Abu Bakr informed us, from Abu Hasin, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah, he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Be steadfast and moderate, and know that none of you will be saved by his deeds alone." They said, "Not even you, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Not even me, unless Allah envelops me with His mercy."
