حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَهْدِيُّ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ صَاحِبُ الزِّيَادِيِّ عَنْ شَيْخٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ يَمُوتُ فَيَشْهَدُ لَهُ ثَلَاثَةُ أَهْلِ أَبْيَاتٍ مِنْ جِيرَانِهِ الْأَدْنَيْنَ بِخَيْرٍ إِلَّا قَالَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى قَدْ قَبِلْتُ شَهَادَةَ عِبَادِي عَلَى مَا عَلِمُوا وَغَفَرْتُ لَهُ مَا أَعْلَمُ.

'Affan narrated to us, he said: Mahdi ibn Maymun narrated to us, he said: 'Abd al-Hamid, the companion of al-Ziyadi, narrated to us, from a scholar from the people of knowledge, from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "No Muslim dies and three households of his nearest neighbors testify good about him, except that the Most Blessed and Exalted says: 'I have accepted the testimony of My servants about what they knew, and I have forgiven him for what I know.'"
