حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ بَيَّاعِ الْمُلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ { ثُلَّةٌ مِنْ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَقَلِيلٌ مِنْ الْآخِرِينَ } شَقَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَنَزَلَتْ { ثُلَّةٌ مِنْ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَثُلَّةٌ مِنْ الْآخِرِينَ } فَقَالَ أَنْتُمْ ثُلُثُ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ بَلْ أَنْتُمْ نِصْفُ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ وَتُقَاسِمُونَهُمْ النِّصْفَ الْبَاقِي.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abu Hurayrah narrated: When the verse was revealed: 'A multitude from the former peoples, and a few from the later peoples' [Quran 56:13-14], that was difficult for the Muslims. Then the verse was revealed: 'A multitude from the former peoples and a multitude from the later peoples' [Quran 56:39-40]. He said: "You are one-third of the people of Paradise. Rather, you are half of the people of Paradise, and you will share the remaining half with them."
