حَدَّثَنَا عَارِمٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ بَرَكَةَ عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ نَهِيكٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ فِي الدُّعَاءِ حَتَّى أَرَى بَيَاضَ إِبْطَيْهِ قَالَ أَبِي وَهُوَ أَبُو الْمُعْتَمِرِ لَا أَظُنُّهُ إِلَّا فِي الِاسْتِسْقَاءِ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to raise his hands in supplication until the whiteness of his armpits could be seen. His father (the sub-narrator) said: 'I do not think this was anything but during the prayer for rain (istisqa).'
