Ibn Abi Adi told us, from Humayd, from Bakr, from Abu Rafi', from Abu Hurayrah, who said: I met the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, while I was in a state of major ritual impurity, and I walked with him until he sat down, then I slipped away and went to my quarters and washed myself, then I came back while he was still sitting, and he said: "Where were you?" I said: "I met you while I was in a state of major ritual impurity, and I disliked sitting with you while impure, so I went and washed myself." He said: "Glory be to Allah! The believer is never unclean."
