قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ سَيْفٍ الْمَعَافِرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ رَأَى فَاطِمَةَ ابْنَتَهُ فَقَالَ لَهَا مِنْ أَيْنَ أَقْبَلْتِ قَالَتْ أَقْبَلْتُ مِنْ وَرَاءِ جَنَازَةِ هَذَا الرَّجُلِ قَالَ فَهَلْ بَلَغْتِ مَعَهُمْ الْكُدَى قَالَتْ لَا وَكَيْفَ أَبْلُغُهَا وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ مِنْكَ مَا سَمِعْتُ قَالَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْ بَلَغْتِ مَعَهُمْ الْكُدَى مَا رَأَيْتِ الْجَنَّةَ حَتَّى يَرَاهَا جَدُّ أَبِيكِ.

He said: Abdullah ibn Yazid told us: Haywah told us: Rabi'ah ibn Sayf al-Ma'afiri told me, from Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Hubuli, from Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As, from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, that he saw his daughter Fatimah and said to her: Where have you come from? She said: I have come from following the funeral of this man. He said: Did you go with them all the way to al-Kuda? She said: No, and how could I go there, having heard from you what I have heard? He said: By Him in whose hand is my soul, had you gone with them to al-Kuda, you would not have seen Paradise until your great-grandfather saw it.
