حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَوَّامُ حَدَّثَنِي أَسْوَدُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ بْنِ خُوَيْلِدٍ الْعَنْبَرِيِّ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا أَنَا عِنْدَ مُعَاوِيَةَ إِذْ جَاءَهُ رَجُلَانِ يَخْتَصِمَانِ فِي رَأْسِ عَمَّارٍ يَقُولُ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا أَنَا قَتَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ لِيَطِبْ بِهِ أَحَدُكُمَا نَفْسًا لِصَاحِبِهِ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ يَعْنِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ بْن أَحْمَد كَذَا قَالَ أَبِي يَعْنِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ تَقْتُلُهُ الْفِئَةُ الْبَاغِيَةُ فَقَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ أَلَا تُغْنِي عَنَّا مَجْنُونَكَ يَا عَمْرُو فَمَا بَالُكَ مَعَنَا قَالَ إِنَّ أَبِي شَكَانِي إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَطِعْ أَبَاكَ مَا دَامَ حَيًّا وَلَا تَعْصِهِ فَأَنَا مَعَكُمْ وَلَسْتُ أُقَاتِلُ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Yazid ibn Harun told us: al-Awwam informed us: Aswad ibn Mas'ud told me, from Hanzala ibn Khuwaylid al-Anbari, who said: While I was with Mu'awiya, two men came to him disputing over [who killed] Ammar, each one saying, "I killed him." Abdullah said, "Let one of you graciously concede it to his companion, for I heard" - meaning the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him - Abdullah ibn Ahmad said: this is how my father narrated it, meaning the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him - "say, 'The rebellious party will kill him.'" Mu'awiya said, "Will you not spare us your madman, O Amr? What is keeping you with us?" He said, "My father complained about me to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to me, 'Obey your father as long as he lives, and do not disobey him.' So I am with you, but I do not fight."
