حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ يَعْنِي أَبَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْمُعَقِّبَ حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْفُقَيْمِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُجَاهِدٌ عَنْ جُنَادَةَ بْنِ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ قَتَلَ قَتِيلًا مِنْ أَهْلِ الذِّمَّةِ لَمْ يَرَحْ رَائِحَةَ الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنَّ رِيحَهَا لَيُوجَدُ مِنْ مَسِيرَةِ أَرْبَعِينَ عَامًا.

Isma'il ibn Muhammad - meaning Abu Ibrahim al-Mu'aqqib - narrated to us: Marwan narrated to us, al-Hasan ibn Amr al-Fuqaymi narrated to us, Mujahid narrated from Junadah ibn Abi Umayyah from Abdullah ibn Amr who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever kills a person under a covenant of protection will not smell the fragrance of Paradise, and its fragrance can be found from a distance of forty years' journey."
