حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدَةُ بْنُ أَبِي لُبَابَةَ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ وَنَحْنُ نَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ الْعَمَلُ فِيهِنَّ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأَيَّامِ قِيلَ وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا مَنْ خَرَجَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَرْجِعْ حَتَّى تُهَرَاقَ مُهْجَةُ دَمِهِ قَالَ فَلَقِيتُ حَبِيبَ بْنَ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ فَحَدَّثَنِي بِنَحْوٍ مِنْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ قَالَ وَقَالَ عَبْدَةُ هِيَ الْأَيَّامُ الْعَشْرُ.

Isma'il narrated to us: Yahya ibn Abi Ishaq narrated, Abdah ibn Abi Lubabah narrated from Habib ibn Abi Thabit, Abu Abdullah — the freed slave of Abdullah ibn Amr — narrated to me: Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As narrated to us while we were circumambulating the House (Ka'bah): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: There are no days in which good deeds are more beloved to Allah than these days. It was asked: Not even jihad in the way of Allah? He said: Not even jihad in the way of Allah, except for a man who goes out with his life and his wealth and does not return with anything. He said: And Abdah said: They are the ten days (of Dhul-Hijjah).
