Affan told us: Abu Awanah told us, from Abu Bishr, from Nafi', from Ibn Umar, who said: 'The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, had a ring of gold, and he used to place its stone toward the inside of his hand. One day he cast it away, and the people cast away their rings as well. He then took a ring of silver and used it to seal with, but he did not wear it.'
