حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاصَلَ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَوَاصَلَ النَّاسُ فَنَهَاهُمْ فَقِيلَ لَهُ إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ مِثْلَكُمْ إِنِّي أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Muhammad ibn Ubayd told us: Ubaydullah told us, from Nafi', from Ibn Umar: that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, observed continuous fasting during Ramadan, so the people also fasted continuously, but he forbade them. It was said to him: But you fast continuously. He said: I am not like you; I am given food and drink.
