حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ يَعْنِي الطَّحَّانَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ لَقِينَا الْعَدُوَّ فَحَاصَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ حَيْصَةً فَكُنْتُ فِيمَنْ حَاصَ فَدَخَلْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ قَالَ فَتَعَرَّضْنَا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ خَرَجَ لِلصَّلَاةِ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ نَحْنُ الْفَرَّارُونَ قَالَ لَا بَلْ أَنْتُمْ الْعَكَّارُونَ إِنِّي فِئَةٌ لَكُمْ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Khalaf ibn al-Walid told us: Khalid, that is al-Tahhan, told us, from Yazid ibn Abi Ziyad, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla, from Ibn 'Umar, who said: We met the enemy, and the Muslims retreated in a rout, and I was among those who retreated. We entered Madinah. He said: Then we presented ourselves to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when he came out for prayer, and we said, "O Messenger of Allah, we are the ones who fled." He said, "No, rather you are the ones who return to fight; I am a refuge for you."
