Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us, Shu'bah told us, from Uqbah ibn Hurayth: I heard Ibn Umar say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The month is twenty-nine [days]" - and Shu'bah clasped his hands together three times, folding down his thumb on the third time. Uqbah said: And I think he [also] said: "And the month is thirty [days]" - and he clasped both his palms together three times [fully].
