حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنِي سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الضَّبِّ فَقَالَ لَسْتُ بِآكِلِهِ وَلَا مُحَرِّمِهِ.

'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us - Sufyan narrated to me, from 'Abd Allah ibn Dinar - I heard Ibn 'Umar say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about the dabb, and he said: 'I am not one who eats it, nor one who forbids it.'
