حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ مَالِكٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مِغْوَلٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنْ الضَّبِّ فَقَالَ لَا آكُلُهُ وَلَا أَنْهَى عَنْهُ.

Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from Malik — that is, ibn Mighwal — from Nafi', from Ibn Umar, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about the spiny-tailed lizard (dabb), and he said: I do not eat it, nor do I forbid it.
