حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ اقْتَنَى كَلْبًا إِلَّا كَلْبَ مَاشِيَةٍ أَوْ كَلْبَ قَنْصٍ نَقَصَ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطَانِ.

Sufyan told us, from Abdullah ibn Dinar: I heard Ibn Umar say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'Whoever keeps a dog, except a dog for livestock or a dog for hunting, his reward is diminished by two qirats every day.'
