حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ مَثَلَ الْمُؤْمِنِ مَثَلُ شَجَرَةٍ لَا يَسْقُطُ وَرَقُهَا فَمَا هِيَ قَالَ فَقَالُوا وَقَالُوا فَلَمْ يُصِيبُوا وَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُولَ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ فَاسْتَحْيَيْتُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Yazid ibn Harun told us, Shu'bah informed us, from Muharib ibn Dithar, from Ibn 'Umar, that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "The likeness of the believer is the likeness of a tree whose leaves do not fall. What is it?" He said: So they said various things, but they did not get it right, and I wanted to say it is the date-palm, but I felt too shy. So the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "It is the date-palm."
