حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَنِي زَيْدٌ الْعَمِّىُّ عَنْ أَبِي الصِّدِّيقِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ رَخَّصَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي الذَّيْلِ شِبْرًا فَاسْتَزَدْنَهُ فَزَادَهُنَّ شِبْرًا آخَرَ فَجَعَلْنَهُ ذِرَاعًا فَكُنَّ يُرْسِلْنَ إِلَيْنَا نَذْرَعُ لَهُنَّ ذِرَاعًا.

Yahya narrated to us, from Sufyan: Zayd al-'Ammi told me, from Abu al-Siddiq, from Ibn 'Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, permitted the Mothers of the Believers a handspan of extra length for their hems. They asked him for more, so he granted them another handspan, making it a full forearm's length. They would then send to us so that we might measure a forearm's length for them.
