Abu al-Nadr told us, Abu Mu'awiyah - meaning Shayban - told us, from Abu al-Ya'fur, from Abu al-Salt, from Abu Aqrab, who said: "I went early one morning to Ibn Mas'ud in Ramadan, and I found him sitting on top of his house. We heard his voice saying: 'Allah has spoken the truth and His messenger has conveyed it.' We said: 'We heard you saying, \"Allah has spoken the truth and His messenger has conveyed it.\"' He said: 'The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: \"The Night of Decree is on one of the odd nights in the last seven of Ramadan; the sun rises that morning clear, without rays.\" I looked at it and found it as the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had said.'" Affan told us, Abu Awanah told us, Abu Ya'fur told us, from Abu al-Salt, from Abu Aqrab al-Asadi, who said: "I went early one morning to Abdullah ibn Mas'ud," and he mentioned something similar.
