حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ عَنْ زِرٍّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ لَمَّا قُبِضَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ الْأَنْصَارُ مِنَّا أَمِيرٌ وَمِنْكُمْ أَمِيرٌ فَأَتَاهُمْ عُمَرُ فَقَالَ يَا مَعْشَرَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَلَسْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ أَنْ يَؤُمَّ النَّاسَ قَالُوا بَلَى قَالَ فَأَيُّكُمْ تَطِيبُ نَفْسُهُ أَنْ يَتَقَدَّمَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ قَالَتْ الْأَنْصَارُ نَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ أَنْ نَتَقَدَّمَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Mu'awiyah ibn Amr told us, Za'idah told us, Asim told us, from Zirr, from Abdullah, who said: "When the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, passed away, the Ansar said: 'From us shall be a leader, and from you shall be a leader.' So Umar came to them and said: 'O company of the Ansar, do you not know that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer?' They said: 'Yes indeed.' He said: 'Then which of you would be content in himself to step ahead of Abu Bakr?' The Ansar said: 'We seek refuge in Allah from stepping ahead of Abu Bakr.'"
