'Abdullah ibn al-Walid told us, Sufyan told us, al-Rukayn told us, from al-Qasim ibn Hassan, from his uncle 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Harmalah, from Ibn Mas'ud, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, disliked ten things: yellow [dye on clothing], changing the color of gray hair, wearing a gold ring, trailing the lower garment [on the ground out of pride], adorning oneself with ornaments in other than their proper place, striking with knucklebones [in gambling games], withdrawing the semen from its place [during intercourse, without the wife's consent], corrupting a child not forbidden to him, tying amulets, and incantations except with the protective chapters [al-Mu'awwidhatayn].
