حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ وَيُونُسُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَعْيَنِ الْعَبْدِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ الْجُشَمِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ سَأَلْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْقِرَدَةِ وَالْخَنَازِيرِ أَهِيَ مِنْ نَسْلِ الْيَهُودِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمْ يَلْعَنْ قَوْمًا قَطُّ فَمَسَخَهُمْ فَكَانَ لَهُمْ نَسْلٌ حِينَ يُهْلِكُهُمْ وَلَكِنْ هَذَا خَلْقٌ كَانَ فَلَمَّا غَضِبَ اللَّهُ عَلَى الْيَهُودِ مَسَخَهُمْ فَجَعَلَهُمْ مِثْلَهُمْ.

Abdullah ibn Yazid and Yunus told us, they said: Dawud told us, from Muhammad ibn Zayd, from Abu al-A'yan al-Abdi, from Abu al-Ahwas al-Jushami, from Ibn Mas'ud, who said: We asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, about the monkeys and pigs - are they descendants of the Jews? The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Allah has never cursed a people and transformed them such that they had descendants when He destroyed them; rather, this creation already existed, but when Allah became angry with the Jews, He transformed them and made them like these creatures."
