قَالَ وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَلَّهُ أَفْرَحُ بِتَوْبَةِ أَحَدِكُمْ مِنْ رَجُلٍ خَرَجَ بِأَرْضٍ دَوِّيَّةٍ مَهْلَكَةٍ مَعَهُ رَاحِلَتُهُ عَلَيْهَا طَعَامُهُ وَشَرَابُهُ وَزَادُهُ وَمَا يُصْلِحُهُ فَأَضَلَّهَا فَخَرَجَ فِي طَلَبِهَا حَتَّى إِذَا أَدْرَكَهُ الْمَوْتُ فَلَمْ يَجِدْهَا قَالَ أَرْجِعُ إِلَى مَكَانِي الَّذِي أَضْلَلْتُهَا فِيهِ فَأَمُوتُ فِيهِ قَالَ فَأَتَى مَكَانَهُ فَغَلَبَتْهُ عَيْنُهُ فَاسْتَيْقَظَ فَإِذَا رَاحِلَتُهُ عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ عَلَيْهَا طَعَامُهُ وَشَرَابُهُ وَزَادُهُ وَمَا يُصْلِحُهُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مِثْلَهُ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
He said: And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Allah is more joyful at the repentance of one of you than a man who went out into a desolate, perilous land, having with him his riding beast carrying his food, drink, provisions and all he needed, and it strayed from him, so he went out searching for it until, when death was about to overtake him and he had not found it, he said, ‘I will return to the place where it strayed from me and die there.’" He said: So he came to his place and was overcome by sleep; then he woke and found his riding beast at his head with his food, drink, provisions, and all he needed on it. Abu Mu’awiyah told us: al-A’mash told us, from Umarah, from al-Aswad, from Abdullah, the like of it.
