حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا كُنْتُمْ ثَلَاثَةً فَلَا يَتَنَاجَى اثْنَانِ دُونَ صَاحِبِهِمَا فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ يَحْزُنُهُ.

Ishaq told us: al-A'mash told us, from Abu Wa'il, from Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If you are three, then let not two converse privately without the third, for that would grieve him."
