حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورٌ عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ صُبَيْحٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ مَعَ مَسْرُوقٍ فِي بَيْتٍ فِيهِ تِمْثَالُ مَرْيَمَ فَقَالَ مَسْرُوقٌ هَذَا تِمْثَالُ كِسْرَى فَقُلْتُ لَا وَلَكِنْ تِمْثَالُ مَرْيَمَ فَقَالَ مَسْرُوقٌ أَمَا إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الْمُصَوِّرُونَ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abd al-Aziz told us: Mansur told us, from Muslim ibn Subayh, who said: "I was with Masruq in a house that had an image of Maryam (Mary) in it. Masruq said: 'This is an image of Khosrow.' I said: 'No, rather it is an image of Maryam.' Masruq said: 'As for me, I heard Abdullah ibn Mas'ud say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The people who will receive the severest punishment on the Day of Resurrection are the image-makers."'"
