Ali ibn Bahr narrated to us, Isa narrated to us, Thawr narrated to us, from Ziyad ibn Abi Sawdah, from his brother, that Maymunah, the freed slave woman of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), said: "O Prophet of Allah, give us a ruling about Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem)." He said: "It is the land of the gathering and the resurrection. Go to it and pray in it, for a prayer in it is like a thousand prayers elsewhere." She said: "What about someone who cannot travel to it or come to it?" He said: "Then let him send oil to be lit in it, for whoever sends a gift to it will be like one who prayed in it." Abu Musa al-Harawi narrated to us, Isa ibn Yunus narrated to us with his chain - and he mentioned the same.
