حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُبَارَكِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّهْشَلِيُّ عَنْ مَرْزُوقٍ أَبِي بَكْرٍ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ رَدَّ عَنْ عِرْضِ أَخِيهِ رَدَّ اللَّهُ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ النَّارَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ الشَّامَ فَدَخَلْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَصَلَّيْتُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَقُلْتُ اللَّهُمَّ يَسِّرْ لِي جَلِيسًا صَالِحًا فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَى حَدِيثِ شُعْبَةَ.

Ali ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Abdullah, meaning Ibn al-Mubarak, informed us. He said: Abu Bakr al-Nahshali informed us, from Marzuq Abu Bakr al-Taymi, from Umm al-Darda', from Abu al-Darda', from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said: "Whoever defends the honor of his brother, Allah will turn away the Fire from his face on the Day of Resurrection." Aswad ibn Amir narrated to us, Isra'il narrated to us, from al-Mughirah, from Ibrahim, from Alqamah. He said: I came to Sham, entered the mosque, prayed two rak'ahs, and said: "O Allah, facilitate for me a righteous companion" - and he mentioned the meaning of the hadith of Shu'bah.
