حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَيَّارٌ وَحُصَيْنٌ وَمُغِيرَةُ وَأَشْعَثُ وَابْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ وَدَاوُدُ وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ مُجَالِدٌ وَإِسْمَاعِيلُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَالِمٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ فَسَأَلْتُهَا عَنْ قَضَاءِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَتْ طَلَّقَهَا زَوْجُهَا الْبَتَّةَ قَالَتْ فَخَاصَمْتُهُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي السُّكْنَى وَالنَّفَقَةِ قَالَتْ فَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ لِي سُكْنَى وَلَا نَفَقَةً وَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَعْتَدَّ فِي بَيْتِ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ.

Hushaym told us, he said Sayyar, Husayn, Mughirah, Ash'ath, Ibn Abi Khalid, and Dawud told us - and Mujalid and Isma'il, meaning Ibn Salim, also told it to us - from al-Sha'bi, who said: I entered upon Fatimah bint Qays and asked her about the Messenger of Allah's, peace and blessings be upon him, ruling concerning her. She said: her husband divorced her irrevocably. She said: I disputed with him before the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, over lodging and maintenance. She said: He did not grant me lodging or maintenance, and he ordered me to observe my waiting period in the house of Ibn Umm Maktum.
