حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ قَالَ حُصَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا عَامِرٌ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ أَنَّ زَوْجَهَا طَلَّقَهَا ثَلَاثًا فَأَتَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَشْكُو إِلَيْهِ فَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ لَهَا سُكْنَى وَلَا نَفَقَةً قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ لَا نَدَعُ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَسُنَّةَ نَبِيِّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِقَوْلِ امْرَأَةٍ لَعَلَّهَا نَسِيَتْ قَالَ قَالَ عَامِرٌ وَحَدَّثَتْنِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَهَا أَنْ تَعْتَدَّ فِي بَيْتِ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ.

Ali ibn Asim told us, he said Husayn ibn Abd al-Rahman - Amir told us, from Fatimah bint Qays, that her husband divorced her three times, so she came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, complaining to him, and he did not grant her lodging or maintenance. Umar ibn al-Khattab said, "We will not abandon the Book of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and the Sunnah of His Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, for the saying of a woman who may have forgotten." Amir said: And she told me that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered her to observe her waiting period in the house of Ibn Umm Maktum.
