Hasan told us, he said: Ibn Lahi'ah told us, he said: Abu al-Nadr told us that Busr ibn Sa'id told him, from Ma'mar ibn Abdullah: that he sent a servant boy of his with a sa' of wheat and said to him: "Sell it, then buy barley with it." The boy went and took a sa' plus a bit more. When he came to Ma'mar and told him of that, Ma'mar said to him: "Did you do that? Go, return it, and take nothing but like for like, for I used to hear the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Food for food, like for like' — and our food at that time was barley." It was said: "But it is not the same." He said: "I fear that it resembles usury." Harun told us, he said: Ibn Wahb told us, he said: Amr informed me that Abu al-Nadr told him that Busr ibn Sa'id told him, from Ma'mar ibn Abdullah, and he mentioned its meaning.
